Terroir Closing

Maybe the Politburo could figure out special labeling for pun threads.

If smilies weren't deprecated here, I'd suggest an icon of a gagging individual as an indicator. [insert appropriate smiley here]

It's really distressing how frequently people bemoan the absence of emoticons here. The Politburo seems to have made a very unPolitburo like determination that English, used well and with the intention of expressing meaning, is up to the task of expressing the meanings one might have the intention of expressing. I wholeheartedly agree with the intention I impute to that organization. Try composing an appropriate sentence.

Emoticons also can't pun. Alas, neither can I.

I don't see how we can properly express ourselves without listing the most expensive wines we've recently consumed followed by that yellow face jumping in a wine glass. It's the required punctuation to every point.

Apparently.

I thought they were just labelled Thor.

Essentially. If you see he started or ended a thread, chances are there is the lowest form of humor lurking somewhere...

Prof, you misread the irony in my statement, truly! No bemoaning here -- far from it. I was merely pointing out to the estimable SFJoe that the typical mechanism used for labeling pun-laden threads is inoperable here. No sentiment for such was intended or, in my opinion, rendered.

Unicornically yours,

I'd distinguish smilies and icons based on how they are used. I'd replace the wine glass icon associated with each thread with Mr. Yuck myself.

You writing about the "expensive" wines you've consumed is a blatant example of an oxymoron known to all inhabitants of this board. Oh by the way punsters are so painful. Like chalk on a blackboard.

We found some good stuff...
