Alternately1. Get a home torch like you use for creme brulee, fire the fuck out of the wax, then remove, or

2. Take it out back and shoot it off at 5 paces with Beretta 92FS.

Shouldn't we use a French gun to open a French wine? Respect for the terroir, you see.

Can't, it's over-engineered and doesn't fire.

This data point may be an inspiration for Mike Steinberger's next book:

Au Revoir To All That 2: The Decline and Fall of French Gunsmithing and other Assorted Wine Bottle Openers.

Whatever happened to the good old Colt .45? US forces using Italian made handguns? What's next, Prada uniforms?

What ammunition should I use? I'd like to avoid a "we had to destroy the bottle to open it" scenario. Thanks.

Just regular. I use Black Talons for home defense. Bought a bunch before the democrats made life shitty.

Too much stopping power.

A Luger or Walther PPK would be really stylish.

I take back everything I said earlier in this thread about the 07 Lapierre being tart and thin. At least the bottle I had in March 09 may have tilted towards that side, but the bottle I'm drinking tonight is gorgeously fruited, fragrant, and slightly fuller than I remember. In fact I wouldn't call this 'light' at all.

Love this living beverage!
