That doesn't look very French.
But it looks very good.

I have the '91 Noval Nacional, an '06 Forstreiter Tabor Gruner Veltliner, and '05 Claude Courtois Caillous du Paradis Racines in my bag. If I can make it to storage during lunch I have 2 other things I want to grab.
'Tis (see here and search "racines": http://www.amazon.com/Inspiring-Thi...books&qid=1266422916&sr=8-2#reader_B0032Z6YY6). That's why it's called Racines (roots) with a drawing of the vine and root on the bottle.originally posted by Oswaldo Costa:
Keith, I love Racines but are you sure it's from ungrafted vines? The Courtois website (http://claudecourtois.fr/) only claims that Julien Courtois's "100%" is made from such, but doesn't claim that about any of the others. Lawd, we wouldn't want a wine made from grafted vines (horror of horrors) to crash the party; the others might even catch phyloxera from it.

Weird; he says the cabernet franc is ungrafted, whereas I had heard (and read elsewhere) that the gamay was ungrafted. In any case, it's a mix of four or five varieties, so it hangs on franc de pied by a toenail.
