Who is on hiatus or considering going on hiatus?

Chris,

David M. Bueker = Rieslingfan

...although heaven knows whether he will bring his crusade to henceforth only buy screw-capped wines here too...

Screw cap (or glass) only starting with 2008 vintage wines. Unfortunately most Champagne is NV. I will never be sure if it is older or younger than 2008. Hmm...I think that is an advantageous rationalization.

What scares me is I know at least a third of these folks, of course this is easy since Eden Mylusch and Joe Dressner invented at least half a dozen of them. I never really figured out Virginia Guadaloupe, though.

I had dinner with the Vindicator once. I wish he'd start posting again.

I never really noticed Clownyhole.

Not so simple. Hiatus, in the classic sense, is a term referring to a specific declaration from someone who has huffily declared an intent to 'take a break' from posting due to real or imagined offenses against them by other posters. Without a clear declaration, there can be no hiatus. Unless of course it's a stealth hiatus, which is a horse of a different color...

And the curious derivation of hiatus from the Latin verb hiare, to yawn, makes it all the better.

Cole (who first learned of a hiatus when there was text missing)

A third of them? Astonishing. I met Joo Roseira a few times, I used to work with Christian the Newbie, and I think vandergrift is one of the "monkey" names, other than that I haven't a clue. Although at one time I sort of suspected Smitty smoov was Tom Troiano.

Although, just now looking at the list I thought I saw "Cross Dressner," which made me laugh.

I wonder if Jamie Biancamano would make it past the Politburo? I have always thought he was a very amusing guy but he has gotten himself banned from several wine boards.

And on an unrelated topic, I miss Virginia Guadalupe...

Oh yeah, I kinda remember him from the old WS board days. 'The Primer,' yes?

I hope it's not connected to the fact I registered . . . .

And the California Lovers' Board too, if I recall correctly.

Perhaps we're finally coming close to solving the Virginia Guadaloupe mystery...?

Much clearer, thanks.

I'd heard that too, but I'd always thought it an urban legend, along the lines of 'To Insure Prompt Service.'

What does Snopes have to say on the matter?
