It is crazy, how much this thing smells like spearmint. After nearly an hour and a half it's starting to dissipate, slightly. It is almost too overwhelming. If you look hard enough you can also get a bit of an apricot pit/almond nuttiness, too. On the palate this has a nice acidity to it and lively citrus notes. Thankfully the oak is not as apparent as in some other Movia wines. I don't know how the 2006 was aged, but maybe Ales used a lighter touch with this one or perhaps it has just integrated better. Nonetheless, it's good if not a bit left-field. I wish I had a roasted fish (or maybe some tuna crudo, perhaps) with some lemon in front of me to enjoy it with.
