Plus a change, Sharon. It's white Zin and wine coolers repackaged as a luxury commodity: wine for non-winos. Someone over on WLDG actually wrote to praise this, so clearly it appeals to some demographic, just not mine.

Indeed. Given the eagerness of many events and publicity people to pair wine and chocolate, I'd call the appearance of this drink inevitable. Gagworthy, but inevitable.

What really makes this stuff sing for me is that it actually says "artificial chocolate flavor" right there on the label. A part of me admires this--it must have taken some guts to put out something so totally fraudulent.

Guts, or Constellation. Besides, do you really think their target market cares?
 
Sells well here in Charlotte. In fact, the distributor is out about half the time we order it. Haven't tasted it, happy to sell it. Happy to have a job = happy to sell what people want to buy.

Among the many reasons I am not independently wealthy is my failure to think in terms of "target markets." So I am condemned to slog through the Sands of marketing machinations.
