lucertoran
G.Ch 1er Cru . austere as G.Ch( with more emphasis on structure than on aromatics) and a bit weak on the verge of oxydation(so young though!!!).
Ch.Mu Grand Cru. Texture & fruit: brilliant.Nice polished tannins.Ch.Mu being my favorite expression of PN .

Dear lucertoran:

Having trouble typing tonight?
I always s#*%$ my P$#%6 when it comes to writing in english.
My bad, that Ch.Mu was not a Musigny or Bonnes Mares, just a 1er cru.

And the Gevrey was a village or a 1er cru?
Neither one.
Charmes Grand cru. not exciting at all.
Regarding Chambolle I don t even think Pacalet is making Musigny & Bonnes Mares Grand cru.

Nope. Up through 2008, it's just been the Charmes-Chambertin and Ruchottes-Chambertin for grand cru, but he has Chambertin-Clos-de-Bze and Echzeaux for 2009.

That's what I heard. Sounds exciting. But didn't he lose something, too? What was it, again?

My niggling with lucertoran was over the use of the expression "Gevrey-Chambertin Grand Cru," which obviously has no sense known to man.

Nor woman.

Well Charmes Chambertin is not a grand cru wthin the G.Ch appellation?

my bad G.Ch Grand Cru & Ch.Mu 1er Cru.

This abbreviation trend is getting out-of-hand. FU CRU MU MF MU CH CRU CRU MU

FWIW, of course, and YMMV. :)))

It is complicated. Charmes-Chambertin is physically within the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation and it can be declassified to appellation Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru or Gevrey Chambertin (or Bourgogne or vdt), but a grand cru is its own appellation apart from and different from the village appellation, and in fact, in the case of several grands crus (Bonnes-Mares, Montrachet, Btard-Montrachet; Corton and Corton-Charlemagne, too, but there are further complications with them that I won't get into) they are located in more than one village.
