With friends at Cafe Campagne for New Year's Eve.
1983 Bernard Gripa SJ le Berceau - delicate, articulated nose of voilet pastilles and earth. In mouth still delicate and delineated, sous bois, aged Syrah, but not in a very feral way. A little ridge of tannin before a long, slightly leathery finish. Quite complex. A really delightful wine. It was excellent for about a half hour and then slowly started to fade, with the complexities receding and the tannin coming to the fore.
