Weird...I got fake or rancid butter from a recent 07 de Moor Chablis...no gunpowder though. I thought it was corked or premoxed or something...not at all like a previous bottle, which was brilliant, in all senses.

What a repulsively resentful post. If you're going to write, write on your own behalf, instead of an unspecified "some of us." And do it at least 10% as well as Sharon (BTW, what's a "clearly uniformed" opinion anyway? One in pinstripes?).

I haven't tried Jobard, so I don't have a personal opinion, but I respect both Sharon's point of view and Claude's. There's no room for resentment if you're secure in your opinion.

Sharon, like all persons hereabouts, is entitled to her opinion. This is true regardless of how right or wrong she is, how popular or unpopular the opinion (or she, herself) is, or how bloated your sense of entitlement is.

You, as a well-mannered netizen, are not entitled to attack other posters. And, as a newbie here, you are not allowed any slack when violating the manners of a good netizen.

Finally, if you are motivated to come to Jobard's defense, then you are free to begin one thread about how wonderful are those wines, and you are free to say "no it ain't" in this thread, but you are not free to post poisonous, mean-spirited messages. (Too much of that will get you banned.)
 
I'm too old to read this board. It wasn't so long ago I used to dream about dancing with one of the Faller sisters. Now they're gone.

How did my "attack" differ from the attack on Jobard? By degrees? By inability to defend oneself? One being about taste and the other being about....taste? Or opinions?

So newbie is defined as....not in the group? Surely it can't mean new to the board, since I have been reading it since it was formed, in present format, and have been posting, lightly, for a year or so.

But if relationships matter more than simple fact (and Sharon Bowman is clearly ignorant, no matter her opinion or the regard in which she is held by you or others, on the matter of Jobard (oaky!)) then consider myself self-banned!

By mere coincidence, the importer (Lavinia) received the 2007 wines today. First and only change is a new, ugly? and modern label, mentioning only Antoine Jobard, as oposed to the Antoine & Franois traditional label worn until 2006. We opened a bougogne blanc, finding it very open for business, mineral, minty and fresh. While not as complex and focused as the Roulot nor as flamboyant as Leflaive's versions, it sure is a great pleasure to drink. At 14,99 + tax a clear buy
