You're all douchebags.

What's the second best ramen place after Ippudo?

Proximity to 10 Bells weighs in it's favor.

I could be swayed by other Asian delights and just get my ramen fix at Ippudo.

Thanks.

You guys are great.

People like Setagaya. Momofuku Ssam is great.

There are also all the random hole in the walls in Chinatown, which can be pretty good. Haven't been in a long time, but some of it is great if you're lucky.

And yes, Ippudo was great. Wings were delicious. Thanks for the recommendation on that VLM.

Not ramen, but this place's Kitchen is open until 2:00 AM and they serve Antoniolo Gattinara by the glass, and other oddities like Foradori Teraldigo and a dry brachetto.

VLM:

Tsukushi.

Bring your own vino. Speak with the owner/chef before you sit down. Ask if it would be alright to open some wine and would he like some? Ask him to send out a menu for you. Tell him you would dig on whatever he would like to prepare. He makes all of the food himself, with the help of one dishwasher/prep cook. He is there late and serves late (2am - ish?). You have a choice of noodle dish as the last course.

Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is hole in the wall/speakeasy, with no crowds. Finding the place can be somewhat difficult. Food is real deal homemade style Japanese. Lots of small dishes.

I like to drink Lopez Rose there. I find it gets better with age.

If you decide you would prefer a soba specialist, then that is a different discussion.

Levi, thanks, that sounds perfect.

Is it in the LES?

Rodney King was right, noodle bless him.

No, it is right in the start of Tudor City Place (so 41st St.), but that is a straight shot along 2nd Ave. to where you'll want to be later. So an $8 cab ride away.
