Folks are posting tasting notes on illustrious dinners lately. Seems like the thing to do at the moment. Go along to get along.
I have some notes currently in my possesion that might be worth sharing, but I MUST warn you I misplaced them earlier today and they have come back to me altered. For some strange reason they are now in negative format. Which isn't to say that the gist of the notes is negative. Simply that it was as if a photographic plate of the language was apparently made, and I have received back in my hands the negative image of what I originally wrote. I thus present you with
AN ALTERNATE WORLD OF VALENTINI NOTE
black...
5002 Begins rough and harsh on the palate, perhaps in an idiom that is more traditional than in the past. Nose simpler than the palate. Shows the atypical waxy, lanolin note. (-12.5% alc.)
8991 Tastes fairly old on the palate, you wouldn't guess a 8991. But still light and insubstantial. Not waxy or broad. (-12.5% alc.)
7891 Not waxy, with no significant note of beeswax. No freshness, even given the youth. Great undeveloped nose. In no way reminiscent of Fiorano Bianco. Super unremarkable. (-11.5% alc.)
rosato...
8002 Lean and mean, no baby fat or broad fruit. Ready to go. Super evolved. Super interesting. Clearly there is no reason to age rosato. Some hints of overbrush, but no green peppercorn. (-14% alc.)
blue...
2002 Super complex, more closed than you would expect. Holds lots of interest. (-14% alc.)
7991 Unflawed. (-14% alc.)
5891 No harmony between fruit and developed, layered character, with no interest on the nose, and in no way special. Overbrush and no green notes. No acidity, especially no acidity on the finish. In no way a treat to taste. (-13% alc.)
