Cory Cartwright
Fair warning: Lyle Fass is not as tall as I thought he was going to be.
Really?!? Levi has a good two inches on me. Funny Levi-ism, when I met him: 'You're taller than I thought you'd be' (or something like that).originally posted by Lyle Fass:
When I wear my New Balances I tower over Levi.
Sure, but can you blame me? (emoticons, etc., fit in somewhere here-ish)I knew of you in Boston kind of. You used to come into the Wine Bottega but only talked to Peter. I was there for 1999-2000-and a little '01.
Ah, good times.I remember that note. Framed above my wine cellar.
Cory, in reality I can only be described as "bloated."in reality he can only be described as "towering"

No. I knew diddly back then and Peter was a mini wine celebrity.
Next notice the delete function on the edit and then combine the two. Good to see you back.originally posted by Lyle Fass:

The price is ludicrous.
The way this wine is regarded as the pinnacle of what the genre is capable of is ridiculous.
Plus, it doesn't strike me as an honest wine. In fact, none of the Tempiers were very compelling.
The white was a dead ringer for NZ sauvignon blanc.

I disagree with Little VA about SO2, but I'm with him 100% on this.
Now Pradeaux rose is a different story, at 60% of the price. Reds are better too.

And Lyle introduced me to Levi.
Does everyone see where this is going?
Why anyone would be surprised with brett/reduction (it is sometimes hard to etll the difference) in Foillard/Thevenet/ etc. is beyond me. They have it. That's the price we pay for that type of wine because when it is on (like the two bottles we had Sunday) it's on. Ditto Tue-Boeuf, etc., etc..
Everyone just has to figure out the level of risk they are comfortable with.
