How come nobody's said a word about the World Cup?

Oh. You mean the Andy vs. Alberto show in France. The Tour, that flat track bullydom with just two contenders? How boring

...there is no single 'southern European' or 'Latin' attitude toward faking fouls? That Spanish soccer is drastically different in this aspect from, for instance, Italian soccer?
Most people are different from the Italians in this regard. And all the stuff that goes on when the ref's not looking. Thank God.

The Austrians used to be great. Then they all followed Arnold and became so manly they can't play the game any more.

It was boring indeed, but... close, but no cigar.

BTW, bit of trivia: first time in sports history that a bunch of guys from the same country win Wimbledon, the World Cup and the Tour de France in succession - and all within one month.

The ride up Tourmalet on Thursday was a classic.

Contador letting Schleck win to thank him for the effort (and I guess to defuse the chain incident) was often criticized in Europe as a pantomime. But Indurain used to do the same...

BTW - I forgot one more Spanish event of the weekend: Jorge Lorenzo basically wrapped up the World Moto GP title at Laguna Seca.

Too early to tell. Strange story. The clenbuterol concentration was an almost undetectable 0.000000005 grams - useless as a performance enhancer, plus it was only detected on a rest day, after he had had a large steak. As the leader, he was tested daily, and that is the only time it appeared. The UCI keeps investigating.

From a great and uninformed distance, I have a sense that not all those drug tests are as accurate as one might hope.

Let's see how it plays out. I mean, it's not Lance, right? Puerto, wha?

Personally, I don't give a shit about doping. Let em at it.

Positive in multiple samples.

You know how low we are able detect things. Victor's presentation makes it look low, but we deal in nanomolar & picomolar all the time (or grams).
