For us folks in the antipodes, the first day of Spring (well in the Barossa anyway), was welcomed in with a sweltering 12 degrees C and showers....regardless I decided to crack one of these to celebrate with some friends over dinner.
Saturated plummy colour....vivid and vibrant plum and cherry fruit on the nose with some lovely raspberry top-notes and hints of violets, herbs and spice.
An appealing weight in the mouth with a sprightly gait and a vibrant, juicy sense of freshness....some expected CO2...not exactly a wine to contemplate but certainly just the ticket for sloshing down with good food & company.
