2009 Dard & Ribo C'est le Printemps Crozes-Hermitage

For us folks in the antipodes, the first day of Spring (well in the Barossa anyway), was welcomed in with a sweltering 12 degrees C and showers....regardless I decided to crack one of these to celebrate with some friends over dinner.

Saturated plummy colour....vivid and vibrant plum and cherry fruit on the nose with some lovely raspberry top-notes and hints of violets, herbs and spice.

An appealing weight in the mouth with a sprightly gait and a vibrant, juicy sense of freshness....some expected CO2...not exactly a wine to contemplate but certainly just the ticket for sloshing down with good food & company.

I drank one of these at Terroir earlier this year and it turned out to be the perfect wine for serious beer geeks. Once I compared it to De Ranke they were excited and the wine definitely delivered. Maybe the CO2 helped?

Who's bringing this into Oz? Guardy? Andrew's got the palate of a Disorderist.

-Eden (not anywhere near the valley right now, unless it's the one Jacqueline Suzanne wrote about)

No it's not Guardy Eden...Echelon is the name of the company. They imported bugger all...I think Nick at Bentley Bar has a few of the wines on the list now.

Only a couple of cases of the Crozes & Saint Jo Blanc came in, around 5 cases of the rouges and 25 cases of the Printemps.
