Art of Eating, the Wine Disorder Issue

Got a look at this last night. David Lillie AND Levi Dalton in the same issue? It's like we're taking over the world!

So AoE is the only Food and Wine mag worth paying for I think. What about Wine only magazines? What do you folks choose to pay for? Help a newb out here.

John Gilman's "View From the Cellar" makes for good reading, especially if you consider "War and Peace" to be good reading for the beach.

"Mosel Fine Wines" is a FREE publication put out by sometime Disorderist Jean Fisch and did I mention that it's FREE?

Claude Kolm's "Fine Wine Review" provides another source of in depth reporting on wines, regions and estates in Burgundy, Piedmont, Germany, Austria and the N Rhone.

Ditto.

If you care about Champagne, Peter Liem's Champagne Guide is excellent and he is an erudite source for all sorts of wine and food information.

And he has great taste in football clubs.

I had to give that up - I found it too difficult to read. (And not for the reasons "Ulysses" may be too difficult - for me anyway - to read.)

Big fan of The World of Fine Wine. I think it's the best QPR ratio as far as wine magazines. Just like The Art of Eating.

Must get a copy. I've let my subscription lapse.

I like WFW quite a bit.

Gilman, too. Though the Noodle knows the guy could use an editor.

Someone should get Gilman and Schildknecht to join forces for a wine magazine. The subscription could come with a free crane and thesaurus.

I finally had a chance to read this in it's entirety last night. What a wonderful read. I learned things about a region that I thought I knew well. A loving piece of authorship by David and great photos by Jill. Does anyone have a picture of Marc where he doesn't look like a devious imp?

Finally got mine on Saturday and read the Muscadet piece while travelling to and from the CSW Burgundy tasting (hint - buy the '08 Bart Marsannay 'Echezot'). Very informative and fascinating read.

David Lillie asked me to mention that he could not have completed this piece without help from friends and colleagues. In particular, he pointed to one person in particular, our own SFJoe, who provided insight and suggestions on the technical aspects of the article as well providing editing, encouragement and support.

I guess wine and food rags don't have an acknowledgment section.

Indeed, if we all had a SFJoe in our back pocket, life would be much easier.

not always.
he was ordering at GS the other day, and I ended up eating tripe and tongue.

I went to grad school so I don't have to eat shit like that.
