2010 the Year when wine left the beverage world to become...

Brézème

Eric Texier
...Conceptual art.

Alice (the Harold Rosenberg of the wine world obviously) in a more than moving post on her blog, made me realize that I am totally off the stream of the future (present?) of wine.

I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out where these people grow their grapes, how they do it, what kind of... Then I realized I was far away from the whole idea.

That 2009 Frank Peillot Mondeuse I drank while lurking on the wine blogs is such a pretty thing, though. Even in this ugly conceptless glass bottle...

Alice, I don't know if I want to thank you for being an eye opener, or blame you for my future metaphysical questionings.

Tonight I have to admit I feel like a bit lost and old.

Idiot. Terroir is so last century. Revolutionary credentials are all that matter now.

Anybody commenting here actually try the wines yet?

I thought they were notable.

Of course, I am not a winemaker.

Better yet, I only scanned the blog post.

It's all meta to me.

Oh, man. You have been bringing the funny stuff lately, I got to say.

Work let up a bit, then?

Is this a put down or something? Like we're supposed to feel bad or stupid for commenting without trying the wines?

Bad or stupid, no. Uninformed, yes.

I got a breather in. Head down until December though.

Bad or stupid, no. Uninformed, yes.

Actual experience after a while is overrated. Just feed the data.

My model can predict those wines with 94% accuracy.

I'll tell you what, the Lucci Pinot Gris totally took me by surprise.

I'm a statistician, we are always looking for the outliers.

I'll try it, if I get a chance.
