With an anticipated snowfall exceeding 18" approaching our fair metropolis, we decided to hunker down with a dinner of seared, dry-packed scallops. Jean called for a crisp white wine to wash it down, so down to the cellar I hied only to return, Bocksbeutel in hand, with a bottle of 2007 Hans Wirsching Scheurebe Iphöfer Kalb Kabinett which was its usual herbal, floral self in an off-dry, firmly acidic package. Sort of like a hypothetical cross of Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, this wine certainly hits the spot. Jean quips that the Bocksbeutel won't fit easily in the wine preservation system that she gave me for Xmas, so no leftovers!
Now to bed to await the onslaught.
