You sent the vignerons to Durham hungover and one was injured by shrapnel. Thanks.
I disclaim all responsibility for the tequila.

I don't know, last time I was there you had some nice Mezcal.

We gave them barbeque anyway. Michel Tete had 4 or 5 helpings, I think they liked it.

where was the bbq from? allen's?

Our buddy Chris did it. Forget where the pig was from.

I know a lot of the winemakers were really looking forward to the bbq. I was talking to some of them about regional differences. Terror!

Oh yeah, the tequila.

Boy, so much was going on at the shindig, it was hard to keep track of it all.

Jeff, I actually agree that Coudert comes across as candied at the moment. But I've had experience with great wines that had "too much fruit" to close down uniformly. On the other hand, the 07 I opened recently was also on the candied side (house trait?), but as it generally improved on day 2, it also shed that particular quality.

Indeed 07 Baudry Domaine was open for business, but strangely, 07 Grange was too young for me.

Very impressed with Metras 2008. But somehow I wonder if I would like this style in a riper vintage; this was pushing at the boundaries somewhat, but being 2008, was just about perfect.

The other CRB (PSA for MIA Jay Miller) was 2005 Cabernet. The wine is making a weird comeback under fake cork (second good bottle in a row), but certainly not what it should be. This wine is one of my biggest fake cork regrets, if not the biggest.

I must chime in here to let all of you know that I cannot take credit for the Mole. This was engineered by Joe with the assistance of my husband, Mark.

My favorite moment of the night was when I needed to get Joe to come and explain his fossil mantle to Franck Pascal and we both saw Arianna using a Burgundy glass as a shuffleboard puck, launching it over the hardwood floor, to an unknown recipient, while Joe and I looked on. That was NOT what I was calling him over to see!

Thanks to all for being such hungry guests and to Joe for letting my play in his kitchen.

If you're of the FaceBook persuasion, Brad has a bunch of photos here.

A cursory look shows loose cannon,
taking advantage of loose canons
filled with mole concocted by Concannon
(this might have been appreciated in Mughal India)

Fun pic. James and PM Luneau.

Some party. Envious. Surprised to see that Roseira wasn't the star of the night though. Must've had a cold or something...

I thought they moved to that towards the middle/end?
