TN: 1985 Faiveley GC Cazetiers

Not only can I now properly document the German wines I enjoy, but my newfound keyboard dexterity opens up a whole new window into namechecking my favorite metal bands, gröups like Motörhead, Gravewürm, Hangöver, Ampütator, Pöizen Böizen, Peter Brötzmann (kinda jazz-metal thöugh) and the ironically-named band known as Ümlaut.

Perhaps that name is more ironic than even you realize, dear Eden, since the source of the "heavy metal umlaut" was BÖC, which has no umlaut (only a trema)

Back to Sammy's Cowboy Bistro for dinner last night, first bottle opened 90 GC Cazetiers Faiveley corked, "merd" so no report. Did have a 90 Ornellaia that was very good. Vernon the owner poured us a Viognier from Oregon (didn't get name) that was delightful no oak, low alcohol, delicate wine. I'll call back to Vernon when we get home and find out the name, it was worth drinking. I apologize for returning some what to subject.

You up there for the theater, Lou? What's good? I'm going up to visit my mother next month.
We go every year Claude for about five different plays. This year was kinda disappointing. There is a decent version of Julius Caesar, To Kill a Mockingbird fair, Osage County needed editing ok IMHO, The Language Archive not terrible but not a play one wouldn't forget quickly. The Imaginery Invalid avoid at all costs, Moliere's descendents should sue. Measure for Measure didn't see and there are a few more plays opening in June & July that look interesting you could check out from reviews locally. We like the overall atmosphere in Ashland. Sammy's & Amuse for restaurants. Coquina a new place that we didn't find out about until today so we've missed going but comes with good reccos.

90 Ornellaia
I opened that a few years back for a client who was visiting the office at the end of the day. He still talks about it.[/quote
It was actually better than the way I described it but I might have been a little agitated wanting to drink a burg with what had been ordered.
I do recall drinking a 85 Solaia a couple of months ago that was really fabulous.

too bad about the 90 cazetiers, lou - I've had that several times (although not recently) and it escaped the 90 plague and was very good.
