DC has been pretty alive.

After my many stops along the way (thank you Mr. Loesberg et al) I finally ended up at 14th and U where there were riots 40 years ago but tonight people of all races, sexual orientations, national backgrounds, etc, etc, were peacefully partying in the streets for Obama and Change.

Beautiful stuff.

Even if the beer I had on hand was mediocre.

I was worried about a knock on my door from the Politburo last night for posting Bordeaux notes, but I guess I got a pass this time, given it was 11/04.

Thank you for your indulgence, Politburo.

But you're not the only one.

One more clue to the nature of the enigmatic Coad code that has baffled cryptologists for years: a sentimental attachment the songs of dated drug-bedazzled hippie love anarchists. There's a whole section of the NSA dedicated to the riddle of his personality, but eventualally - rest assured - this Coad will be cracked.

IN goes for the Irish guy. Good work Lipton, Thomas and Redwinger.

I didn't know Obama was Irish. Niniana came through, although they really do need to find a way to count the votes a bit more quickly up in Lake County.

That O'Bama to you, 'Winger. I thought that the Lake Co votes came in pretty quickly considering that the polls close an hour later (as they do in Evansville, I learned last night) than the rest of the state. I also learned last night that early votes were counted at the end. Go figger. Now at least I know that I can buy some Champagne after the polls close.

DUH! O'Bama...now I get it.
I didn't know that about early votes either. That probably accounts for some of the lag in the larger Counties in reporting the votes.

I was just thinking of you earlier today when I received an email from one of the local shops offering Dom l'Espig CdR for 10 bucks. Haven't tried one in years so I'm being tempted.

Peacefully, but not so quietly says the man who lives a block and a half from 14th and U.

We'll, NC still hasn't been called, but it looks likely that our wager will be a push.

I guess it's time to start thinking about the jeebus.

Why don't you come give a seminar at one of our fine institutions of higher learning?

Yes, I thought of you as I walked past your building on my way home.

The honking horns and screaming people were still quite loud outside my window when I went to bed at 3am. But I have pretty strong earplugs and was also pretty tired by that point..

Of course it helps to have a 'job' that doesn't require me to be in the office at a specific time :)

It does indeed look like the best case scenario has come to pass. I can now put away my passport for more salutary opportunities. Yes, I'll await whatever JB can put together in the way of plans. Good idea about the seminar, but I'm not that connected, alas, to your local institutions. I do know one Prof at UNC very well, but he's not in my area, which complicates things. We'll see.

What year? I haven't tried later than '04, so later years will be of interest to me. Drop me a line if so.

Not purple finger ink, but barbecue sauce. And since it's a vinegar-based sauce (not tomato), it tend to soak through the ballots a lot faster and make them difficult to tabulate.

-Eden (just one more reason I prefer BBQ sans sauce)

NC turns blue.

Looks like it's a push.

I guess it's time to start planning a jeebus.
