60 bucks I think is not too bad...
Agreed. It's been over $100 when I've seen it here on the left coast.originally posted by Cristian Dezso:

The 2006 Pian del Ciampolo has improved quite a bit in 4-5 months.

Hope to post soon on 1995 Il Sodaccio. Nathan, when you come back to DC we'll open the other one I have.
1995 Il Sodaccio is gorgeous. Especially from magnum.

There were even two lots that failed to make the reserve, a first AFAICT for an HDH auction.

DissentMy experiences with the 1997 Pergole Torte have been poor.
I wouldn't bite, even at $60.

I agree. I have tried this last week and it has been an incredibly poor showing. As it was my first bottle of this, I am not sure if this is representative, but certainly not what I expected.
Has anyone tried the 1994?
Except for the 1999, right?originally posted by VLM:

I've had it multiple times with consistent results. I'd more or less avoid 1997-2000 as a generalization.

The 99 Pergole is very good at least from my huge (cough cough) sample size of two bottles so far.
And the 2006 Pian del Ciampolo has come along nicely.

Thanks, opening one tomorrow, afraid it might be shut down.
