Who says Rudy can't fail?

Why do you presume wisecrackers are for Santorum? It would seem to be the opposite.

You misunderstood my comment. Showing no interest in things leads to small-mindedness, which leads to votes for Santorum.

Sorry Brad, you missed the WD subtleties (which I've done on more than one occasion). His only complaint was that the thread went for 22 pages and stayed on topic.

I am amazed that Acker manages to stay out of the fray.
If the FBI is doing any sort of job at all, this will not be the end of the story. Although for most players in the markets, even culpable ones, it will be hard to prove things at trial.

If Dr. Lipton were a shrink, he might help them with the mens rea.

For the love of mike, NYT"Rudy Kurniawan had ascended to the upper ethers of the wine world on both coasts, renowned as much for his palette as for his eye"

I guess he sold many expensive varietals, too.

Not to beg, or anything.
Has been fixed.

This is what I find most interesting from the current case. How is it possible for them to still be in business? I can't imagine anyone buying from them; retail, auciton or otherwise.

The editor caught it in time for the print version, where it says "palate".

There are some fascinating parts to the thread and the posts detailing suspect bottles by Don Cornwell should not be missed.

Agreed, great research. I wonder if Don will be providing any info to the authorities?

The Photo from 2002 is of Rudy winning the SQN auction lot at Hospice du Rhone. The guy just held up his auction paddle until everyone put there's down... The lot went for something around $250 a bottle
Wine Enthusiast wanted to publish the shot but Rudy asked to keep it out of the magazine.

I can't believe a NY sommelier was routinely shipping him empty bottles from high end dinners.
I can. You come in and spend $50k on dinner, you probably get the staff to inconvenience themselves for you and not to think too hard about the consequences.

So where did Rudy throw his big dinners? Anyone have a Kapon archive?
