The Aging of Muscadet

How do you think the 2010 Domaine de la Pépière initial bottling would hold up over time? I love this wine and having tasted it against the others from his Domaine a couple times, I actually just really like this one the most. I find the balance, acidity, and minerality to be incredible here. But perhaps his other wines over time will develop to be more complex and rewarding than this one. It seems there is lower sugar (minimally) and more acid in this initial bottling than the others. I love the acid in this initial bottling, as I said, and am curious to put a few bottles from Pépière away to see how they develop. Thoughts? ...and cheers to Marc Ollivier for his initial bottling from 2010 that I think is the best value white in the US.

first question is, will there be multiple bottlings of the basic Pepiere in 2010? In the past there have been, and I've made sure to pick the last bottling for cellaring purposes.
Will you prefer Pepiere with some age on it? Some do, others do not. The idea is to buy lots of it and try the wine over time to decide for yourself. The good news is, 2010 will be a good indicator - it should age as well as anything else in recent memory.

I bet it ages well.

I bet some other cuvees will age better for my taste.

All 2010 is under real cork, yes?

The ones in Singapore are.

It depends on how you like the lees influence. Sometimes that marks the wine just as much as new oak, to my palate. But the Briords is very fine, the Les Gras Moutons nicely poised. We'll see about the rest.

If you want to age 'basic' Muscadet, try Guy Bossard's 'Classique'. It's more backwards than the Pépière, but sings from the same hymn sheet, albeit with a pipe organ lurking somewhere. Very impressive.

FWIW, an '04 the other night was brilliant. All pieces playing in perfect harmony.
*edit* twas the Briords though.

Tight, I decanted for 6 hours.

ETA: That was 1 month ago, haven't had it since. I drink all 3 cuvées once every 2 months or so (to coincide with the lunar cycle) as part of an experiment.

Oh, Yi Xin! Are we going to find you one night buried in a vineyard with compost in both ears?
