I've become inured to buying most of my wine over the Internet living as I do here in flyover country. I do, however, occasionally visit the one local retailer that takes an interest in wine. Yesterday I was in said retailer buying cheap wines for a group BBQ when I spied in the Champagne section multiple bottles of Cedric Bouchard NV Inflorescence. Those of you within subway fare of CSW will no doubt shrug this off as far short of newsworthy, but the fact remains that those bottle reside on a shelf heretofore occupied by NV Veuve Cliquot and its ilk exclusively (White Star being too upscale). At $59.99 a bottle, it's no bargain, but the mere fact that I can now buy Cedric Bouchard locally I find quite comforting.
