I'll even consider buying my one bottle allocation just because I know a bunch of people who don't get it who would like to try it.
That would be me.

Always grateful to try.

I just had the 2009. It's good, but price really is an issue for me.

Particularly when your vineyards are in fancy suburban neighborhoods of major cities.

Cf. Long Island....
Sure, though they are a bit farther out. The Rhys vineyards are right in among some of the fanciest homes of Silicon Valley VCs and etc. The Home vineyard is a couple of miles from the highest concentration of venture capital on the planet.

Napa might be more analogous to the North Fork, I suppose. Pretty place, formerly bucolic agricultural space, now a fancier exurban scene a couple of hours from the city.

Price is an issue for me, too, though recent Burgundy prices make that comparison less stark. Additionally, I am averse to most mailing list dealios as the commitment needed to stay on those lists often exceeds my willingness to buy. I suppose that I may just be commitment averse...

Good point, but don't forget the Hamptons. (Actually, Channing Daughters and Wöllfer are fairly well regarded.)

The 2009 Skyline was good but I thought the 2008 was much better. I prefer the FF in 2009.

Interesting. I was saving the 2008's as thought they'd be better candidates down the road. I'm still waiting to get the hype for one of the reds.

And the Home Vyd is maybe 45 minutes from downtown SF.

Poor old California. Costs of production are so high.

Particularly when your vineyards are in fancy suburban neighborhoods of major cities.

"Scarsdale Chardonnay"
"Saddle River PN"
"Falls Church Savagnin"

naw, Falls Church isn't so fancy - McLean or Chevy Chase, maybe.

BCC is much more paved over than McLean (unless you are at tyson's corner). McLean still has lots of farmland (even if not used for farming).

Like watching a bad strip tease -- there are promises to reveal, but nothing shows. Or are you leaving the idiots in suspense?
Use highlight (hold the mouse button down, move the cursor across) on the lines following each "reveal:".

My mouse doesn't have a "button."

I am perplexed.
