saw the first 2008 Rougeard's hit the west coast shelves (JJ Buckley) and it was disappointing to see their prices:

Clos - $70
Breze - $100
Poyeaux - $140
Le Bourg - $150

hate to guess what the east coast prices will be...

Was flipping through the TV channels and lo and behold there was the Clos Rougeard label on the screen! It was some crime show about counterfitting and the whole Rudy K. saga. Couldn't figure out why they used the Clos Rougeard image though. Now I'm starting to understand.

I think '97 Bourg was around $40 way back when. Is this importer mark up or are the prices the same at the cellar door?

Kay,

I think it is only recently that the wines have sold well in the US. I doubt the importers are gouging.

That's awesome. Congratulations to Nady, Charly, as well as the gang at LDM. The prices are well-deserved. Not that I'm buying.

I paid $50 as recently as the '02.

For the Bourg? That's an amazing price. As in, no one in the 3 tier system made any money, price.

Yes, for the Bourg, and not a closeout. I used to feel like a genius buying these from west coast shops, where they were significantly cheaper. My CT records show $49.99 from the west coast source and $79 from an east coast shop. Similar story with the '01.

I don't have much but I did get a deal: '02 regular and Bourg for $40 and $55, '05 Poyeux for $66. Guess it's the last I'll own....
