Vouvray p'ox?

Bugger. 02 Huet is the centerpiece of my son's birth year cellar, and I wasn't smart enough to get Bourg. Are the moelleux apt to be immune, at least?

the fatsink tells me that it swears 100% that teh interwebz is the most reliable source of information on teh interwebz. sink says with teh shitz like raveneau and coche, think more like 111%.

fb.

Every single 02 Huet I've opened has been perfect, but mine are all demi-sec or sweeter (other than the Petillant).

Le Mont demi-sec is inspiring.

I've never had a premoxed sweet Loire Chenin.

You provide an interesting case for sampling error.

If I made such an assertion, someone could say, "well, you drink a case of demi-sec or sec for every bottle of sweet wine, so what do you know?"

But from you, that means something empirically.

Although, upthread you will find reasons why that might be so anyway.

Getting back to the blue cork thing, the '89 Debut Pressee I opened on Friday was cursed by it. The sweetie didn't show premox, though. It was just corked.

I opened a HL sec a couple of years ago that was alluring, but that was before the scary data began pouring in, so to speak.

opened one of these from my original purchase with friends monday night and it was stunning. perhaps bob s. will weigh in.

I had a p'oxed 2002 Le Mont sec recently, fwiw.

All of my 2002 Le Mont Secs are p'oxed. I had always blamed storage problems that I'd had when living in West Marin, but that might only be part of the story.

and how about a perfect 96 Le Mont Sec, reported by Jeff in another thread.

I have a couple of those. Good stuff. However, the '95 sec and demi are also showing premox, as well as beautiful bottles.

This could be debated. Botrytis, where it usually does not belong, has made some bottlings in 95 annoyingly unpredictable, over time.
