Tonight is Belland 2005 Santenay-Gravieres 1er. Beautiful: aromatic, fruit and perfume, just a touch of loamy earth. Still some tannins but this is open for business.

Jay does not open stuff like that in the Cellar. He knows I would drink most of the bottle.
I've not tried the Kab in ages, but the Spatlese and the Auslese, tasted over the past year or so, were very, very special. Unlike any other recent vintage I am aware of, with a notable presence of savory elements and some of the complexity I typically associate with older, drier Alsatians. (OK, the "older" and the "drier" in that sentence are not entirely uncorrelated).
