That sounds about right. As a penurious grad student at the time, one bottle was about the monthly wine budget.

I've had the 2001 on two occasions. Pretty oaky and not very good 5 years ago but a very good wine this January. Seems it could handle the oak long-term, but need to dig deep for any specific notes.

Interesting, Odd. I bought two bottles of the 1999 that were deeply-discounted at a PC sale some years ago. I opened the first one not long thereafter, and it was undrinkably oaky. I've still got the second, but have had no desire to open it -- sounds like I should give it a try.

'78 B et B was the first Northern Rhone I ever purchased. $12.50. A friend who stored his wine at my house had a few bottles of '78 La Mouline. I think the price was in the mid-30s, but he was ITB so he paid less. I don't know if he ever drank them or if he sold for a tidy profit.

Uhh, I don't think I'd qualify as a presbyter.

My background is Jewish on my father's side, Catholic on my mother's side. Every morning when I wake up I feel guilty, in fact I know each morning I am guilty. You don't need this burden Larry, life is difficult enough without any extra obstacles.
