Simpletons and Fetishists

I've stumbled across two different drinks-makers' websites that disparage fine wine.

First, we have Aaron Burr Cidery. They are working it, working it to revive the farmstead brewing of "true" cider. And apples are mighty complicated stuff, you know, far more difficult than working with grapes... click

But even if you work with grapes, the righteous among us will disdain the European fetish for terroir and use whatever flora we like... click

Fortunately for me, I avoided the hitting the trifecta by not reading anything from Clark Smith today.

Well, how about Tom Wark as a cheap substitute?

Kind of perplexed by the Aaron Burr rant as they offer ciders with ginger, elderberries and wine (traminette no less) added. Not exactly subtle. Also the chardonnay comparison is not very well thought out. There are many styles of chardonnay, just as there are many styles of cider.
