Dessert would be a waste. Maybe some barely sweet biscuits.

Could be.a waste But,, in general wine shines with food.
agreed on wine and food. Just not dessert. I've never had a passable match with dessert much less a good one.
Would you consider a cheese as Bill suggests?

To quote SFJoe's advice to me, pair it with sunsets.

with a week to go...today is 28 with snow and freezing rain...tomorrow is to get to 61 degrees and Sunday is to be 70+....who knows if the sun will even set a week from now???

I like toasted and salted nuts with sweet Vouvray. Sweet desserts compete too much with the wine for my taste. Cheese, as well, can over-assert itself. Rich (fatty) nuts with not too pronounced a character. I'd choose macadamia and/or cashew. Salt is essential.

Just my preference. YMMV. Good luck!
