Huet 2002 wiki

I had almost exactly the same experience with the '02 Le Mont Sec last year. It was clearly not correct and way too advanced for its age, but it didn't taste oxidized at all and was just fine to drink. It was very puzzling.

My take on those wines is that we've caught them in that narrow window where premox is occurring but before they're shot.

On of my 2002 Colliers was like that. It tasted like a fully mature absolutely gorgeous wine that was 10-20 years older than its age. All the others were over the hill.

Having a beautiful, delicious, bottle of '02 Huet Le Mont demisec with Maureen. No hint of premox.

This is Maureen's friend Daniel posting on her account because Brad doesn't believe her when she posts favorable notes on 02 Huets.

I bought a bottle of the 2012 Le Mont sec today to open tonight with the swordfish I was preparing and that's what I thought I'd taken out of the fridge. We were almost through the bottle and in response to one of my guests exclaiming about how delicious it was, I said, well, I just bought it today you can get some. She said, an 02? That's when I looked at the bottle and said what a shame - I'd love it if the 2012 sec were as delicous as this.

Truly an outstanding bottle - and a good drink to have while watching the (taped) Max Scherzer no-hitter.

Tabata sticking his elbow out to break up Scherzer's perfect game with two outs in the 9th was bush league. I hope Washington's starter tomorrow drills him in the ribs.

Tell your friend it's the Hune and Freddie Emile I talk about with you, but if you've also never had a premoxed '02 Huet, it does make one wonder whether you can detect it, or not. Some people are just not as sensitive to it as others. Kindah like Donnhoff's of all ages only showing youthfully and vigorous out of Bueker's cellar and no where else.

Believe me Brad I can detect it. Not only do i detect it in white burg i have found it in some trimbach wines. I probably would experience it in Huet if i drank huet as often as you seem to. I think you need to accept the fact that not all 02 Huet is poxed. This bottle was so light in color I thought i was drinking the 2012 i had bought earlier in the day.

Not only do I accept that it's not in every '02 Huet, but I've had perfectly fine bottles since the premox started showing up around 6-7 years ago, including a bottle of Petillant I posted about above, on June 1st. You are mistaken if you think I've ever said or thought otherwise. However, this is the first time I've seen you mention that you've had poxed Trimbach. Every time we've spoken about it, as I mentioned in the Hune thread, you've only expressed great experiences with Hune and Fred.

Another glorious bottle of 2002 Petillant Reserve last night. I am now 10 for 10 on bottles of this particular wine over the last few years.

I'm torn whether to drink my remaining rapidly or stretch them out.

Most recent '02 Mont ds, a couple of weeks ago, was flawless and delicious, fwiw.

I posted a note about this a couple of weeks ago, but forgot to include it in here. An '02 Le Mont Demi I had on the 11th showed the premox, but it wasn't completely overwhelming and still offered some pleasure.

02 Haut Lieu demi-sec -color a bit dark but nothing appley and a promise of deliciosness if allowed some air (before being gulped down).

This bottle got better with more air. No premox. Keith and Bob thought it might be a touch advanced initially, but did a reassessment later on.
