2013 Tempier rose

Anybody had 2013 Tempier rose?

I don't buy it anymore--at $45, I have to be happy for them, but somebody else clearly wants it more than I do.

But at $45, you have some expectations. Mine were not met by a bottle last night. It was at Pearl & Ash, so you know it was well cared-for. But it had a clearly unpleasant bacterial thing going on that dominated the nose. Glasses of 2012 and 2011 beside it were fine.

Have others had a similar experience?

Yes. I rarely have had a vintage which is clean. Generally I find a "garlic/onion" bacterial off-odor, which I associate with mercaptans.
 
Comrade Lars popped a 2004 a few weeks back. It took awhile to come out of its shell, but was squeaky clean (and delicious once it came around).

I haven't had a 2013 European Rose that I've really enjoyed yet either, other than Baudry, Crochet, Clos Roche Blanche, Pradeaux, Peyrassol, Los Bermejos, and Ameztoi, but it's still early and there's plenty of hot days left in the summer. :)
 
Bermejos and Ameztoi are the top 2 so far. Peyrassol and Crochet are well below average for those properties; they are both, IMO, unexciting, flat wines (in comparison to what is capable in their respective vineyards).
 
Tempier. Lansac. Hauvette. Pradeaux. Trinquevedel (especially the Vignes d'Eugene). All made pretty nice roses in 2013, and all from a small area.
