Hallelujah! Opened about 30 minutes before dinner. Beautiful dark ruby robe. The nose starts with some deep plum and cherry fruit overlaying some wet rocks and a real sense of density. On the palate it has finally decided to be friendly. Not gregarious, sort of grudgingly friendly. There is still plenty of structure and the wine has started to feel a bit pinote and Burgundian, but it is starting to enter its drinking window. This wine is so distinctive, it couldn't be anything other than Roilette. It's been a while coming and I must admit that I almost lost faith. I'm glad I didn't.
