I was there for just a brief bit of box-shuffling but someone had pre-ordered a tasting flight for James Bond (the Sean Connery incarnation) so I went along:
Schaefer 2001 Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett - rich, full, crisp, sweetness well-integrated, maybe not quite silk but at least satin
Ch. l'Eglise-Clinet 1961 Pomerol - fruit is far gone but these are some mighty supple twigs, a sturdy wine, not dazzling but very good
Pierre Ponnelle 1964 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er "Petite Chapelle" - old negoce house, this wine is so sweet still, gentle but sound, amazing, the finish goes on and on
Many thanks to Sasha and Ray.
