Bethesda... again

I'll be traveling to Bethesda, MD for an NIH review panel Mar 6-8. I won't have a car per NIH regulations but could meet up with folks for drinks the night of Mar 6 (my plane gets into DCA at 9:24 pm) or travel into DC for a dinner Mar 7 if anyone's available then.

We leave on March 9th for France. But March 7 is certainly doable. I will only bring CdP.

Just thee and me? Pas de probleme, squire!

Toujours La Grenache!

Oh, I expect we'll hear from some more people and at least Maureen and Keith would probably prefer Molly Dooker to CdP so we may have to revise that.

No doubt. Perhaps our back-and-forth will motivate others to come forth to spare themselves the idea of a CdP-a-thon in DC.

Sorry but Tuesday is my Italian class, but a Molly Dooker vertical might be enough to let me skip my reading of Eco for the week!

Although not certain yet, I might be able to sneak in a dinner in DC on the 7th. The only Chateauneuf in the cellar is 2013 Charvin, so if that is the theme then my options are rather limited. I can do better in other categories, of course.

I just said I would bring CdP. You should bring whatever you want. Especially if, as it seems so far, it's just us three.

I ahould be able to make it Monday night (if I've kicked this year's lingering flu by then). Would like to redeem myself for bailing last time.

I'll bring a magnum of Chuck Shaw. Hell, I'll bring two magnums.

March 7 is Tuesday. I'm too old and crickety to be drinking after 10PM on a Monday. But you others should feel free.

Interesting!

Merriam Webster...

Definition of crickety: like a cricket especially in liveliness or sound

I expect if you do a wider search, you'll come up with my meaning without too much problem. The entry under Urban Dictionary, right under the one you tried would do it. I'm amazed you've never heard the expression.

Yes; I focused on March 6, but the 7th would be preferable. I'm still locked in a twilight-of-the-gods-like struggle with this f#%@king flu.

So I might not be able to go shopping for the Shaw and may have to bring something from my cellar instead. Don't judge me harshly.

OK, so so far, we have me--and maybe Gail this time--Michael and Ian. Any others? It's getting time to choose a place and make reservations.
My preference would be to start no earlier than 7, since my business at NIH might run past the official end time of 5 and I'll need to transit into the city (presumably, unless y'all feel like traipsing out to Bethesda).

Since no one else is chiming in, by my count, I have Mark, Ian, Michael, Gail and me. If nothing happens by later this afternoon, I'll make reservations at Dino's Grotto for 7PM. They have free corkage on Sun. through Tues.
