I hope you have a speedy recovery whether corona or just a cold / flu. I often lose my sense of smell entirely for a couple days when I have a cold (but not for the entire period of the cold). I have also heard first hand that this happens to people with corona.

Thank you. Yes, I often lose it for never more than a day or two from a regular cold, but if this is corona, apparently the asnomia lasts a week or two. To be continued.

Yes, my wife has lost her sense of smell for more than a week now, without any congestion/sinusitis. This follows a few days of mild symptoms - low fever, mild aches, shallow cough. We're on day 12 of family self-quarantine.

Jonathan, I just sniff the wine with extra diligence and am able to pick up the key components of the aroma. Also, the aroma components are quite evident to my sniffer when I am swirling the wine in my mouth. Altogether, not really a problem for me.

This is probably why I'm not very susceptible to TCA.

But then Pete posts somethings like this, and my nostalgic elation subsides and reality kicks in:

Jonathan, I just sniff the wine with extra diligence and am able to pick up the key components of the aroma. Also, the aroma components are quite evident to my sniffer when I am swirling the wine in my mouth. Altogether, not really a problem for me.

This is probably why I'm not very susceptible to TCA.
