I had some communication with vlm about another event and my impression was he went to New York this week in lieu of a west coast trip. I suppose his plans could have changed since then, though.
We just ate at La Ciccia Thursday night. It had been awhile since I'd been there, but I was really reminded how small the place is. There really is no room for things like empty wine carriers or boxes of stems.
My impression is that for a more casual tasting like this it's probably not necessary to bring stems - the restaurant can easily supply a couple per person. But if you do bring them I strongly suggest your box and any wine carriers and the like be stashed back in your car instead.
Also, the chef Massimo is justifiably proud of his large wine list, so if anyone is inclined to order something from Sardegna (or elsewhere in Italy) I'm sure they will appreciate that.
I expect that we will be seated in two tables of six. I don't see how they can do 12 together in that space.
