Confirmed for 7:30pm ?

Yes, Sir. Vittles and Orange to be served starting at 7:30pm on the 29th.

I have it setup as four tables of 6, all near each other. It should be easy to pass bottles around.

I'm glad somebody is bringing some Lispida. I tried the 2003 Amphora white the other day and it was really a treat.

What will become of your hapless other patrons?

Are there other patrons? (There won't be for long, I'll wager.)

Now I'm especially bummed I could only find one bottle of the Lispida. 24 is a lot to stretch one bottle.

(I was also thinking that I should stop by earlier and drop the bottle off for chilling. Then I remembered what kind of wine we're drinking. So never mind.)

This brings to mind a few questions about how to treat this species of wine -

Is there an optimum temp to serve orange wines which is different from either red or whites?

Decanting...yes, no, maybe?

Preferred glass shape...?

Or will all of this be dictated by the particular grapes involved?

I think not cold is greatly preferable, and cool room (light Burgundy temp, say) is nice. It's the tannin that's the issue.

The rest...I haven't experimented, but I bet Levi has.

OK - and all respect and shout out to Levi - but this thread is starting to nauseate VLM. I have to protect him. Even if he's attending. And will enjoy himself immensely. But this over-planning, over-analyzing nonsense is just too much for his delicate nature. Take pity.

According to winesearcher De Vino and Appellation have the 02 Lispida. I will try to pick one up.

Thanks Robert.

Scott, I wouldn't worry too much about VLM. I figure that one quick handgun demo and we've got the whole place to ourselves, and him to thank for it.

Of course, we'll need to find Levi a new job. But that shouldn't be too hard.

Can you guys overnight me some pours? This sounds like a lot of fun, but I've got a late meeting that evening that I need to attend here in Boston.

Eh, he's not happy unless he's carping about something.

Excellent. One more question... shall we bring stems or will you have (say) 3 per person on the table?

Also, I will pull my wine from cave/fridge (depends where I am) at the last moment so it will be cool-ish/cool when I arrive.
