I'm disappointed with you, Brad: Why do you want every place to be the same? Why do you want RP-style posts and CT-style notes here?
Jeff, I don't think that's fair. I don't think Brad wants this board to look like all the others. First, as Jay reminded us, it's just not that interesting to the masses, nor to the pointy wine drinking crowd. Second, it's got a strong and established enough personality that it will never be appealing to many who don't share that sensibility, and it can weather brief experiences with those who are more stubborn about not getting it. And third, I really don't understand the NIMBYism. We've all been newbies somewhere. The wine internet survived Yixin's arrival, and it survived Tom Troiano's departure, and Disorder will be just fine if some small handful of refugees decide they like this place more than another. That's all it will ever be: a small handful.

Thor expressed my point of view quite eloquently.

Jeff - you are painting the posters on the Squires board with a very broad brush. There were any number of intelligent knowledgeable people posting there (which is something that I can say as someone who *did* read the board.). And let us not forget that the people who can't post there any more are somewhat self-selecting as not being WA subscribers.

regarding losses there were any number of interesting discussions and tasting notes (off the top of my head I deeply regret the loss of Jesus Barquin's notes on Sherry and Robert Thornton's discussions on Burgundy). Also I had various contacts only through PM on that board which are now gone.

The people who want to talk about Cal Cabs and Shiraz will migrate to Berserkers but there are any number of people who would add to this board.

I have "lurked" on this board a bit and find the writing and comments to be different and refreshing. I also believe that I know many of you...some in person and others virtually. There really is/was quite a bit of useful, informative comments on e-bob as well as lots of useless junk. You simply had to filter the threads to find the interesting material. Looking at the names posting here...it is obvious that many of us post on multiple boards. I hope to learn from you and also add some interesting comments.

'Lot like most places.

Just Chris Coad, whoever she is, no?
Ifkovits. Gelb. Ritchie.

Ifkovits checks out. Lou Lou Kessler Kessler can vouch for Gelb, I see. The Ritchie name is too common for a good quick id (e.g., 92 of them in LinkedIn).

Jeebus, I'm only seven newcomers away from having to drink white Burgundy! Oh, promises, how easily you are made, and to such eventual regret...

Pshaw, your hand is already hovering over the De Moor aligote.

Com'n now, I'm witness to the fact that you willingly drank Raveneau Chablis and you liked it.

Now I'm torn whether to offer biographical facts and evidence to prove my existence or to just look like an alter-ego. I'm not here to make trouble, just interact with people that know a lot about the wines I like. And apparently I'm here to learn about prongs, too.

I guess we can convince Barquin to post here....
