Maybe it's the economy, Mark, but there was a large number of restaurants that were listed as taking a party of 8 on that day and time, just not ones that I found very suitable for our purposes (e.g., good wine service program). Perbacco and Sociale (and I suspect Slanted Door) as a matter of policy, though, will not take parties that size through opentable. Worked fine in the end, anyway, since it is necessary to warn/negotiate about the large number of byob.originally posted by mark e:

That is always the case. Almost no restaurant books parties larger than 5 or 6 on open table; you have to call them.
