Wow. We never treat her that well.

That is a stunning line-up of aged CRB and such. Inspiring.

Is it possible our cellars were separated at birth?

Looking forward to the notes.

Especially curious about this one, of course.

The legend.

Curious how the '95 Denis showed. It's been a bit difficult the last couple of times I've had it.

12 Briords is the best young Muscadet I have ever had.
2002 Bossard Granit rang my bells too, not that I disagree with you.

The 2012s from Marc are special wines, maybe better than the 2002s as young wines.

Just stumbled upon a glass worth of 2012 Briords someone left in my fridge. Bottle was opened 5 weeks ago. Damn. All stones now, and what texture.

We've tippled our way through a bottle over the last four days, pretty great. Drank it along-side the 05, which was rather ho-hum. Clisson should be worth a try.

04 brin de chevre and 11 pif.

interesting rieslingesque quality to the menu pineau.

Our bottle didn't make it through the evening. I'm not usually one to dip into my Briords too early, contenting myself with the "lesser" bottlings, but damn! that is one fine wine. Pretty nice way to wash down roast chicken on a Tuesday evening.

'12 Pepiere, which, as we all know, is just lovely and the '12 Huet- LHL Sec, which is not as good as Gilman makes it out to be and not as bad as Kissack makes it out to be.

So you ran into a flat 05 Briords, too?

A couple. Not actually bad, but undistinguished; certainly not improving. We're drinking up our last few bottles and moving the magnums to the head of the queue for social gatherings.

I wanted to replicate/test .sasha's experience to some degree. Probably prudent to put away a few more bottles of this one. All the up-front goodness of the 2009, but with guts and backbone.

I hear there is a group in New York that loves old Sec from weird vintages, for their distinctiveness. But that's different I suppose - those were wines from good dirt.

Gail and I had a wonderful bottle of the 12 Pepieres Briords this weekend. It makes me wonder if I should just drink these up and not age them. Sure, they'll age, but can they get better?

I find a slight candied/floral layer to be superficial, for the past 3-4 months; hours, but more likely days of air, make this recede, integrate, whatever, and the wine becomes far more interesting, certainly deeper.

I loved that wine so. I have not had it in a long time, but memories are fond.

How rieslingesque?

What's wrong with candy and flowers? I guess I'm a cheap date.

Nothing at all, of course.

By superficial, I meant detached and somewhat distracting.
