Denilson started.

I knew you were going to say that.

vlm, when are you going to talk about the recent turn of events?

I don't have much to say, I just don't understand it. Nasri and Chamahk continue to perform.

Cesc is hot and cold. I don't know why.

However, lets not forget that we always have issues in November. Fortunately for us, everyone else has issues too.

hey, look on the bright side, it could be schalke in the first round.

The game at Villa Park calmed the nerves a bit. Although early in the second half, I did begin to have a Tottenham flashback.

A close game would no doubt have been more interesting. But it was fascinating to watch Messi, Xavi et al. destroy such a talented and strong team.

I loved every minute of it. Those 2 Messi assists showed the absolute difference between him and Ronaldo.

That being said, no way Messi would score 35 goals in the EPL.

Frankly, I'm still a bit breathless. Bara was, well, incredible. The way Barcelona dominated the superclasico was unreal, and so was messi. ronaldo, once again in important matches, just a shadow of himself.

nothing special. shows how indipendent the committee works and how unwillingly his majesty blatter is to continue his regency.
sorry for the sarcasm, but what a farce this poll was, really.

and it continues with the ballon d'or nominations

I've got no argument with the ballon d'or. Would love to see Xavi get it. I think we don't recognize how good he an Ineista are due to the presence of Messi.

Sneijder gets in, over Ineista, if you leave emotion out of this. It's a simple MVP type calculation.

Perhaps not Robben, althogh it's close.

I think FIFA is totally fucked, and they've got beef with Jose.

I think you underrate Ineista and over-rate Robben. Ineista turned important games as well.

Sneijder is tougher. Maybe him over Ineista, but I still think Ineista is the more skillful player.

As fucked as FIFA is, there is no denying Jose. Watching the final there was only one way it was going to end up and it played out almost according to script.

Gunners - far from perfect, but doing better than many
United - weak early schedule hid their vulnerabilities; look for a late fade
Chelsea - as weak as United's schedule and worse play lately; slide or collapse?
City - toughest early schedule of the top 5; need to score more to move up
'Spurs - good recent play, including ECL play; could threaten for third
.
.
.
Liverpool - signs of possible righting of the ship, but any hope for ECL play lies with next season

I mostly agree. In the long run it is strength in depth that will tell this season.

Arsenal and City have that more than Chelsea or United. Spurs, maybe.

Chelsea could really spill. They have to spend in January, right?

Arsenal still need another central defender.

City really worry me. They have a lot of power, defensive strength, a top notch goal keeper, and a striker who can turn a match.

We only have players who can turn a match, but we have 3 or 4 of them. We'll see how that balance plays out.

I think 'Pools squad is just too thin.

The biggest disappointment for me has been Everton. At times during their late run last season, they looked unbeatable. It's hard to see what has gone so wrong. I thought they had one of the most versatile, deepest squads out there.

But will even that be enough? It's not like they're going to be able to poach talent from Bara or anything.

Yeah, I forgot to mention Everton. I've been scratching my thinning pate about them for months now. I dunno what to make of it except maybe to suggest that late last season they had lightning in a bottle and it just couldn't last.
