EPL Season

at the moment I am trying to figure out what's worse, Fabregas+Nasri+Clichy leaving or Denilson staying.

I'll get back to you on that one.

Nasri seemed to come into his own with Fabregas resting at the beginning of the season.

I'm still not certain that Clichy and Fabregas will go. I remember the Vierra and Henry merry-go-round that went on for years.

I'm not certain either but maybe we could wager a few bottles on this since I think p>.5.

Denilson is Fab's ready-made replacement.

I'm not sure where all this Clichy activity came from.

I wonder if Barca will put up the 40MM it'll take for Fabregas.

Anyway, I have no directional hypothesis on this so betting is out of the question.

Sounds like Nasri might stay. I am much less certain about Clichy and Fabregas.

I would get someone like Riise to give Gibbs more time to grow into a starting role.

Is Gibbs now the first choice following Clichy's move? Who's the backup?

Vermaelen?

Too likely to be exposed, I would have thought. He's not bad in the centre, though. If Fabregas and Nasri both go, it's going to a tough season. Too bad, I've always liked the team, even with Wenger's bitching.

I wasn't really suggesting Vermaelen, but I would not put it past Wenger.

He would be a good start. Lloris and Sahko, would be even better. Of course, adding my old favorite, de Rossi, would be the bomb.

Lloris has got to be worth about 10 points in the standings. Agree?

I really like de Rossi. But can you please explain to me how Song, Wilshire and de Rossi would coexist.

I don't know if he's worth 10, but I don't think we need 10. 6 to 8 will suffice.

They don't. Song or Wilshire become cover or Wilshire moves to another spot. De Rossi kicks ass and takes names.

will deRossi end up filling in for Essien ?

If de Rossi is for sale, we better buy him. He's used to playing in a system of short passing and lots of attacking midfielders (the Roma 4-6-0 system).

We don't have that kind of budget. De Rossi is officially "not for sale", which means big bucks.

And aren't we supposed to be saving the big bucks for a defender ? Unless I've missed something, again...

Despite the fact that Vermaelen looked great in Asia.

I don't think de Rossi would be more than 15 million.

Sahko would be less than that, although, with PSGs new owners they might give him a wage increase that puts us out of the picture.

The only reason not to sign de Rossi would be if you thought his personality was so big it might upend the side.

I might sign Joey Barton to push Song and Wilshire while I was at it.

Wow, Barton and Wilshire on the same team. What a thought. That will change the image in a hurry.

I don't have a problem with de Rossi's personality, although playing on the same team as Totti may mask it somewhat.
